How to Get Rid of Eczema
Eczema is known as a chronic dermatological condition that is characterized by skin rashes, dryness, crusting and flaking skin. Experts say that eczema is caused by inflammation that affects the skin cells plus it causes scarring.
By using a natural strategy will allow you to reduce the inflamation and get rid of Eczema.
Chronic inflammatory disorders such as eczema are characterized by a hyper-responsive immune system.
The signs of eczema should be a warning to the individual that inflammatory destruction is happening within the body and must be addressed to prevent further sickness and disease. Inflammation is the basis for most diseases. Here are six ways to help cure Eczema for children reported by Foxnews.com
Healing this abnormal immune control will begin by rebuilding the intestinal wall, avoiding inflammatory triggers, increasing anti-inflammatory compounds and optimizing vitamin D3 levels.
Individuals with eczema have an increase of pathogenic organisms in the gut that are damaging the intestinal wall and allowing food particles to SLIDE into the bloodstream. These undigested food particles are tagged as foreign invaders by the immune system.
When the immune system encounters these food particles in the bloodstream, it unleashes a massive inflammatory assault that causes a systemic allergenic response. Hence; may cause Eczema on your skin.
The most common food allergens include gluten, corn, soy products, artificial flavors, preservatives, starches, peanuts, eggs and pasteurized dairy. Any processed or genetically modified food product would be considered highly allergenic.

These fermented foods provide high-powered enzymes, probiotics and key amino acids that help to destroy the pathogenic microorganisms and repair the lining of the gut to prevent food particles from jumping across. Intermediate fasting is especially beneficial during the healing phases and beyond.
Fasting from solid foods or periods of 16-18 hours each day can help the body store enzymes and repair the gut even faster.
The daily diet should focus on anti-inflammatory superfoods to help modulate the immune system so it will not over-inflame when stimulated. This means restricting all man-made foods, sugars and food allergens.
INCREASE the intake of anti-oxidant rich vegetables and using healthy fat sources such as avocados, extra virgin olive oil, 100 percent grass-fed red meat and raw dairy, wild-caught salmon and organic eggs are fantastic foods to calm the immune system.
Other great foods for de-inflaming the body include coconut products, berries and non-denatured, grass-fed cows and goats. This form of protein enhances cellular glutathione stores which protect the DNA within the cell and play an important role in coordinating immunity.

A combination of coconut oil and essential oil of peppermint is also very helpful to put topical on skin rashes and eczema.
Vitamin D3 is extremely important for getting rid of eczema or other chronic inflammatory happenings inside your body. UV light therapy has been shown to be very helpful for individuals with eczema as well as natural sun light for short periods of time.
Optimal vitamin D3 should be between 70-100 ng/ml which is significantly higher than the medically acceptable level of 32 ng/ml. Spend 20-30 minutes in the sun each day or supplement with 10,000 IU of a high quality emulsified vitamin D3 for a period of time to reach the desired level.

Below find a few topical ingredients that have been known to cure Eczema. Experts say they do not know the exact cause of Eczema other than it could be genetic.
1. Coconut Oil
Coconut oil has been used for many different types of home remedies due to it’s healing factor. You can use it for skin, hair, teeth, health and even soap, but it is also great for eczema (as long as the person isn’t allergic/intolerant to coconut!).
A thin layer of coconut oil or a coconut oil lotion bar helps cool eczema itching and pain.
2. Sea Spray
Some people have discovered that drying “Eczema” works better than trying to moisturize it and offers relief. You can use a homemade salt and magnesium spray. Between Vitamin D, the magnesium and the minerals in the water has been a great for is for skin health!
3. Fermented Cod Liver Oil
Fermented Cod Liver Oil (FCLO) has been suggested. It is a great source of healthy fats for the body. These two help reduce inflammation in the body and lead to healthy cell, hormone and brain development.
Cod Liver Oil/High Vitamin Butter Oil are a great source of the fat-soluble vitamins A,D, E and K are a healthy start. The supplements can make a big difference to your daily routine.
4. Magnesium Baths
Some people who take baths feel it makes their eczema worse. However, some people feel magnesium baths can actually be helpful in healing their skin.
It’s simple. Regularly add a cup of epsom salts or magnesium flakes and a few tablespoons of Himalayan salt.
A favorite magnesium bath recipe is:
- 1-2 cups of epsom salts or magnesium flakes (magnesium flakes are absorbed much more easily)
- 1/2 cup Himalayan or Sea Salt
- 1/2 tsp of natural vanilla extract
- 10-15 drops of essential oil of choice (I love lavender and mint)
Just like Fermented Cod Liver Oil, probiotics are one supplement that seems to cause a noticeable difference with skin health. High quality probiotics were vital for good health. It places “good” bacteria inside your body. You need “good” bacteria as it boosts your immune system.
Probiotics are often ignored. Good gut bacteria influences our health.
Since gut bacteria is so important, probiotics are one supplement you should add to your daily routine.
- Kombucha Soda
- Water Kefir
- Lacto-fermenting almost any vegetable using whey.
6. Additional Gelatin-Rich Foods
Bone broth was an important part of a healing diet, and this was partially because of its high gelatin content. Gelatin is great for hair, skin and nail health.
Homemade, nutrient dense bone broth is incredibly easy and inexpensive to make. Do not use some versions of bone broth bought in stores as it contains toxins, such as MSG.
When you select bones for broth, look for high quality bones from grass fed cattle or bison, pastured poultry or wild caught fish. Since you’ll be extracting the minerals and drinking them in concentrated form, you want to make sure that the animal was as healthy as possible.
There are several places to find good bones for stock:
- Save leftovers from when you roast a chicken, duck, turkey or goose (pastured)
- From a local butcher, especially one who butchers the whole animal
- From local farmers who raise grass fed animals (ask around at your local Farmer’s Market)
- Online from companies like US Wellness Meats (also where I get grass fed Tallow in bulk- they sell pre-made high-quality broth) or Tropical Traditions (I order high quality beef, bison, lamb and chicken bones from them at good prices)
7. Homemade Healing Salve
Sometimes eczema creates blisters and may take longer to hear. Some people use a healing salve. Our son would get eczema on his face before we were able to heal his gut and we are still working on reversing the scars from that.
My homemade healing salve is helpful on eczema as well as: cuts, bruises, stings, poison ivy and skin irritations. It also helps diaper rash and baby skin irritations- just don’t use with cloth diapers or line them first! Here are the ingredients for using a homemade healing salve.
- 2 cups olive oil or almond oil
- 1/4 cup beeswax pastilles
- 1 tsp echinacea root (optional)
- 2 Tbsp dried comfrey leaf
- 2 Tbsp dried plantain leaf (herb-not banana!)
- 1 Tbsp dried calendula flowers (optional)
- 1 tsp dried yarrow flowers (optional)
- 1 tsp dried rosemary leaf (optional)
Healing Salve Instructions
- Insert herbs into the olive oil. You can either combine the herbs and the olive oil in a jar with an airtight lid and leave 3-4 weeks, shaking daily OR heat the herbs and olive oil over low/low heat in a double boiler for 3 hours (low heat!) until the oil is very green.
- Strain herbs out of the oil by pouring through a cheesecloth. Let all the oil drip out and then squeeze the herbs to get the remaining oil out.
- Discard the herbs.
- Heat the infused oil in a double boiler with the beeswax until melted and mixed.
- Pour into small tins, glass jars or lip chap tubes and use on bites, stings, cuts, poison ivy, diaper rash or other wounds as needed.
Anytime you need pain relief, then it’s always best to use something that is not a drug. Use a product that is all natural if possible for pain relief from Eczema.
